This series includes the prerequisite NRA Basic CCW class. Students must already be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and must have successfully completed Basic Instructor Training (BIT) within the last 24 months.
This is not a beginner's class. Candidates for NRA CCW Instructor certification must be able to demonstrate mastery of marksmanship, safe gun handling, and be practiced and skilled in shooting from the holster.
Candidates will learn how to run live-fire training with students using holsters.
This three day course includes the prerequisite Basic CCW coursework. The hours are:
Monday, January 8 - 9am to 6pm
Tuesday, January 9 - 9am to 6pm
Wednesday, January 10 - 9am to 6pm
Mandatory Equipment:
Handgun (9mm/38 cal or larger with iron or fiber optic sights or non-magnified PMO OK)
4 magazines (minimum)
Strong-side OWB belt holster. Kydex only please. No leather or cordura nylon please. We are strict and allow the Blade-tech OWB holster or a similar equivalent.
Twin magazine belt carrier - kydex open top
Electronic (amplified) headphones
Eye protection (both dark for sunshine and clear)
Brimmed hat
Front opening cover garment that covers the holstered handgun
Personal hydration and food to keep you going (we will take both a lunch and a dinner break and we have a refrigerator and microwave!)
Clothing appropriate for weather conditions (range work will be outdoors)
Good belt that fits holster attachment and pants' belt loops snugly. Pants with cargo pockets are recommended.
Non-slip sport shoes or boots

Notepad, pen and highlighter
Laptop (with charger) with PowerPoint application
